I hear you, actually my wife and I were *sure* I had apnea, because she says I gasp and choke during the night and sometimes my breathing is very heavy (heaving chest, etc). However, when I went to my HMO about my snoring they asked that I make a tape of me snoring, and when we went in the Dr. listened to the tape on fast-forward on a walkman-type recorder and she said my case was "not impressive". She said to lose weight and don't drink alcohol. I insisted that I need something for my snoring, so she said she would give me a referral to the sleep clinic for CPAP evaluation.

I think we have decided to do the sleep study (now sometime in AUGUST!) and try CPAP out before rushing to go and get the Somnoplasty procedure. I am a *bit* overweight, so if it doesn't work as well for heavier people I'll use it as a last resort...

Thanks everyone....

Bob
