hotel insomnia

Posted by tristan on May 19, 1998 at 21:34:57:

I am a musician. I suffer from terrible insomnia, but only on the road and only in hotel rooms. For some reason I just can't fall asleep no matter how tired I am or how early my flight is the next morning. I turn in and get up an hour later and have to sit there channel-surfing. I am miserable all the next day and that night I do a crappy show.

What can I do? This problem never affects me at home and only when I have to wake up in a few hours and desperately need sleep. There's only so many times I can jerk off and I am terrified of getting addicted to pills - a common ailment in my profession.

Is there any medication available that is non-narcotic or barbituate? Anything herbal?

Thanks - T
