It seems you are describing a sleep disorder called 'restless leg syndrome'. If you think this is only disturbing your husbands sleep, than think again. To be sure, you should go get a sleep study. Have your doctor give you a refferal for one. Are you experiancing any daytime sleepiness? Do you fall asleep in front of the t.v.? Most patients that have this disorder think there is nothing wrong with them. What happen is, your brain actually arouses when you move your legs. You don't know this because you fall back asleep right away. This causes your sleep to be fragmented. Have a sleep study done to confirm this. It can be treated with certain medications. You sleep 1/3'd of your life, so you should make sure it is good quality sleep. Also, this will rule out other sleep disorders that may be causing the leg jerking. Good Luck!
