As a psychologist, I think that 5 weeks is too young to let a child cry. At this age, a baby is building up his trust in other people. However, I don't have any good advice since I respond to every scream (even whimpering) of my twin girls and they are 7.5 months and not sleeping well!!! (see message "Twins sleep problem").
