When I was in highschool and even my first year of college it always took me about 45 minutes to an hour to get out of bed, usually pressing the snooze bar repeatedly. My roommate and I both had the same problem and our alarms would go off every 4 1/2 minutes for about an hour.

Perhaps your son isn't sleeping a proper amount, as I notice that I can wake up much easier after sleeping for 3 hours than for 5.
