Yes, getting used to the noise is an adjustment, but the benefits that your husband receives from the CPAP (lessening the possibility of heart problems, getting rest for the 1st time in months, years,etc.) is well worth the discomfort you may experience until you get use to the sound. After a while it becomes a "welcome" sound because you know that your "loved one" is receiving the help he needs.
