I too was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few years ago. I was treated with elavil and an nsaid medication with little help. I has frequent awakenings and excessive daytime sleepiness. Three years ago I saw a sleep disorder specialist and was found to have narcolepsy. Since being treated for this my fibromyalgia symptoms are much improved. I was very frustrated also hang in there and good luck.
