HELP! I can't get up in the mornings!

Posted by Lynn on May 28, 1998 at 01:33:00:

I've had this problem since college where I simply cannot--for the life of me--get up in the mornings, even if I have something very important to do. I have missed finals, job interviews, meetings--among other things--because of my inability to get up. I just love to keep on sleeping, even if I've been in bed for 10+ hours. I tend to be very active till late at night (till about 2 or 3pm) and then wake up late. This is how my father is also. (Is it hereditary?) When the morning light starts coming in, I usually hide under the blanket or my pillow to block it out and continue sleeping. Is this a serious problem? Is anyone else like this? Should I be concerned or is this just my sleep pattern (late sleeper/late waker)? Any advice would help!!
