Yes, there are more than one kind of apnea. Obstructive sleep apnea(most of the time snoring is heard), Cenral apnea is when the brain forgets to tell you to breath and there is what is called hypopnia, the requirment for an apnic event is ten seconds and a reduction in oxygen saturation, with the hypopnea the duration is less as well as the fall in o2 saturation is less. Do ask you Doctor.
