I had an RDI of 71 and ILD. The CPAP mask was not what I wanted for life. My OSA doctor sent me to an ENT doctor for an exam. I was told that a UP3 operation would reduce my RDI. No promises were made, but there would be an improvement. After the operation and another overnight stay at the sleep disturbance center, I received the news that my RDI had dropped from 71 to 9. The OSD and Pulmonary doctors don't think that there is a relationship, but after my latest ILD breathing test, my lung capacity went from 61% to 98% of expected volume.Of course, my success has no bearing on your situatioin. Statistics relating to this situation also have no direct bearing on your situation.
I would suggest that you see an ENT doctor to see if a UP3 operation would help you. Perhaps with proper support data your insurance would pay. In your case, the UP3 operation may not be the way to go. If you don't do the homework, you'll never know.
Best of luck,
Richard
