Yeah right - I'm not worried about this stupid thing anymore. I hope it gets so big that it starts growing out my ears and nose and blah blah blah.

Sorry - but obviously my appointment didn't go as well as I was hoping. While I was at Mayos I saw an Endo, RE and neurologist and they all said that it's nothing! I had found an article on a Mayo Researcher who has done study on the pineal and I did find his name on the board but I couldn't get in to see him. Actually they had me running in so many different directions for three days I really didn't have time before they would close for the day at 6pm. Not to mention the emotional and physical exhaustion!

Now though, that I am an official patient with a patient number, I thought I would write him a letter in reference to this article I've read. I was going to flash it at the other docs that I saw but I figured they wouldn't appreciate it. I'll have to be tactful in my letter as I don't need to slam the other docs that I saw. I'd hate for a hard copy to start circulating around up there and get a bad rap! haha

The neuro did do some testing on me that my local endo had done as far as 'symptoms' of a pineal disorder. On the drive home is when that dawned on me: hmm she tested my reflexes, nerve sensory, had me walk barefoot on my tiptoes, hmm, interesting that this gland is nonfunctional in adults and this was an incidental finding . . so why perform these simple tests???

I'll let you know if I get a response - in the meantime please let me know about your appt. in October but I'll be talking to you before then. Thanks for responding!

Janine
