Hi Janine, Sorry it has taken so long to reply. Other medical problems with another child!!! Clara ended up seeing her neurosurgeon recently for her routine checkup and because her optic nerves were enlarged again. She got a clean bill of health and we were told not to worry about the enlarged optic nerves unless she had symptoms that went with it. We decided to hold off on the endocrinologist because as the surgeon told us she just needs to increase her activity levels now that she is finally feeling normal again. We decided to heed his advice for the moment and see how things go for her in the next few months.
Also in reply to yor questions yes I do believe doctors are in the dark about a lot of these cysts. They are of the belief that whatever they learned in Medical school still holds true no matter what. We have found this type of attitude over and over again. Never take just 1 doctors opinion as the only way to solve a problem. You have to be responsible for your own health care and treatment because no one else will.
