I would like to know about the "HLA-DR2 Antigen" test, in regards to Narcolepsy.
There is much information circulated about the test, which I feel may be inaccurate, which is the reason as to why I ask the question:
In "lay-mans" terms, what is the HLA-DR2 Antigen test?
How should the results be interpretted?

The information I have, is that a Positive result does not necessarily mean that the patient is Narcoleptic, as 25% of the population also carry it.
Depending on the information, between 60% & 98% of Narcoleptics carry the Antigen, & test HLA-DR2 Positive.
Therefore a Positive result indicates a 1in4 chance of the patient being Narcoleptic.
A negative result means that the patient may/may not have Narcolepsy.

Is this information correct?

Thanyou for your assistance.
