I just had my second MRI, two months after the first. My physician proclaimed that the mass is not growing, or at least not enough to detect yet. I've been told that the difference between a cyst and a tumor in this area is that a cyst is mostly liquid and a tumor is mostly solid. Both can be benign, and both can be malignant. Cysts are more common than tumors in the pineal gland. Both can cause the same problems (growing too large as to disrupt nearby systems). Both require a very involved and difficult surgery to remove, but no doctor will do surgery unless it is proven that the growth is cancerous or the patient has severe symptoms. If you find anything else out, please email me at jstarzec@hotmail.com
Right now I'm just waiting.
