Our lab donot have actigraphy.
I agree with you about doing drug screen but was not done.He did not have much arousals.
Had 24% of SWS and dicreased REM latency. He denied any pain, stress or symptoms of depression. minimal snoring during the study. He refused any further psychological evaluation or seeing rheumatologist.
I practice in a small comunity and he was already evaluated at university center and look frustrated
I discussed with him in length and advised him to maintain sleep log and prescribed Ambien10mg at bed time along with oruvail 1tab at bed time.In reviewing the literature, it was noted that alfa intrusion
occur in normal people, psychological disorders like obsessive personality, fibromyalgia and other rheumatological disorders etc. He gave me vague history of problems in his childhood with his father and he had this problem since childhood. I feel that he has some underlying social/psychological problem. I am going to see him in a month with sleep log and discuss.
I also briefly discussed with him about sleep hygene.I look forward to hearing from you or from any psychologist about how to approach this gentleman's
problem and furhter management
