Here's a case for you pulm-sleep guys to help
with: 42 yo m with BMI=38 kg/m2 had PSG (by
home study). AHI=91, almost all obstructive
apneas. Guess what? His baseline O2 awake is
88-90%, and in sleep (any stage) he's in the
70% sat and below range. No arrhythmias.Discuss: Proper nomenclature for his problem(s),
further work-up (CO2 monitoring) and
management approach (CPAP/BIPAP/Sup. O2)Thanks. PS - I dont know his exact underlying
pulm disease.
