I also have the same ocial/psychological suspicions about your patient. I'm also very skeptical about a 24% SWS in a 30 yr old. Were REM activity / density measures taken?
You may want to try bright light therapy, keeping the bedroom drapes open during daytime sleep. Since he refuse further psychological testing, any psychological interventions may be met with further rejection. But you may want to explore any current "role transitions", interpersonal disputes etc. What is your impression about this patient's mood? Could he be dysthmyic?
