70 yr. old spanish lady has exccessive sleepiness without gross snoring or witnessed apneas. pt. refuses investigations such as psg. sleeps well at hs but falls asleep easily anywhere. oropharynx exam okay. no hbp/dm/cad. i wonder if i can start this pt. on modafinil realizing that ideally she should have all the eval. any suggestions.
