Practically, we treat with bed elevation, H2/PPI meds, Hs antacids, not eating 3 hours before bedtime and see if it works--if not then let GI work it out. 24 hr. monitor is good but may not be reimbursable.
Cardiology questions are good--V-tach, sinus pauses over 10 sec or repeatedly esp. if decreas in o2 sat, RonT, but better question is what measures do you do first before awakening and getting out of the sleep dept.
