The E cases were set up for course. So you could see data and type answers on a computer. The E case data, in my opinion, is a worse case scenario and shouldn't be the focus of your studies.

I think the quality of the data you will see on the exam will be better. Remember, there is a group that have to all agree on the data. The E cases are not special and much of the data is hard to analyze.

I would have a colleague(s) or tech find a good quality study, with interesting findings, and have them give you the history first.

Then, looking at the history only, come up with the differentials. Next look at the data. Take a post it and cover the scoring box on the monitor. Write a synopsis of the quality of sleep. Was there SWS, normal REM, arousals, etc. Come up with your diagnosis, and treatment plan. Remember to include education, and safety issues in the treatment plan.

Then after typing all this information into a word processor and saving the document, look at the findings the lab came up with. Do th ey match? If not who made an error? You may be right and the lab results wrong. Talk to people in the lab.

If all you focus on for the exam is the E cases you may fail. They are not what I expect you to see on the exam, just used for practice during the course.

Having said that. We will be sending out the MSLT and other E case data in the near future.

Hope this helps,

Roy
