Agree with above. His upright VC was 1.72L ( pred 4.25L). A supine comparasin would have been a good idea but was not done (yet). His MIPs MEPs were -28, +60 respectively. His ABG showed pH 7.38, PCO2 57, PO2 65, HCO3 33. He underwent a PSG. His chin and limb EMG tone was elevated in REM but no behaviors seen. Not suprisingly he did well in NREM but demonstrated the expected severe O2 desats into the 60's during REM. Each REM period was associated with an arousal and/or discontinuity.
