I understand the confusion. My notes from the MSLT/MWT talk about the offset definition-3 sustained epochs of sleep vs the 1st epoch of sleep. My notes say the lower limit of normal on the 20 min protocol for 3 sustained epochs of sleep is 13.5 min and for the 1st epoch of sleep criteria(that I suspect is the most common clinical one used) is 10.9 min. For the 40 min protocol it is 19.4 and 12.9 respectively. He also talked about using the 1st 10 sec of sleep as a cutoff but I don't have values for that one. If I wrote this down wrong, then someone please correct me. Good luck to all.
