EKG for longQT interval
Thorough examination of the infant upper airway, chest, heart and extremities.
Monitor overnight for more than three cycles. If there are demonstrated obstructive apneas or periodic central apneas with bradyarrythmias and/or cyanosis, refer for oxygen need assessment and train parents on home monitoring, avoid prone positioning, cool temperature, and non-loose bed clothes.
Talk to parents and to pediatrician on the low likelihood of SIDS(2 in 200-300 infants) and the need for close follow-up to reassess closely monitoring the number of alarms and the events for the next 6-8 months.
