8 wk old wakes up when put in crib

Help - my 8 week old daughter is very difficult to get to sleep at night - often I do not get her to sleep until 3 or 4am. To add insult to injury when I lay her in her crib, although initially still and calm, she begins to wake herself up and is usually wide awake in 20 minutes. If I leave her to shuffle around whilst awake (she does not cry) she is usually sick.

The car usually gets her to sleep but when I try to transfer her to crib the same thing happens. We have tried to purchase the 'Sleep Tight' simulator but it cannot be shipped to the UK - has anyone else tried and tested any devices/tapes etc which have helped ?
