I don't think a 6 month old is at as high a risk for SIDS anymore.....but talk to your doc about it. You could buy this thing called a wedge that holds the baby in place, either in the side or back. I don't have a problem with it, but my husband thinks it is crule ( I think have a flat head from being on the back too much is crule) Anyway - once they start to roll over, there is not much you can do but make sure there is nothing in the crib - no stuffies, no extra blackets, no pillows, nothing soft! Good Luck
