We are in the same boat!!! Our son is 8 months old and is doing the same thing. He wakes up around 2 and is up till 3:30 or 4:00. My husband and I are at our witts end. What we have been trying is letting him cry! As mean as it sounds, it only lasts a short time (it feels like an eternity). We let him cry for 15 minutes, if he is still crying at the end of 15 minutes, one of us goes in to comfort him. We then check his diaper (by smelling not changing unless needed), make sure he isn't hungry (offer bottle) and then we lay him back in his bed. So far he has fallen asleep 3 out of 4 nights before his 15 minutes are up. We tried this with our second child and it worked wonders. It only took 5 nights and then she realized that mom and dad weren't comming in and it wasn't worth waking up for. A big help to us in the begining was a book called "On Being Baby Wise" by Gary Ezzo and Robert Bucknam. This is our third child and if this keeps up much longer he will be our last! Let me know if you come across any helpful ideas!
