Has anyone tried a professional sleep therapist?

Posted by Suzanne on February 16, 2000 at 11:05:04:

I have a 20 month old who barely sleeps and never through the night. He goes to bed around 10pm, wakes up three or four times each night, and then is up by 6:00. He has a one hour nap during the day. We've tried letting him cry it out at night but he gets so upset he vomits. SInce he is very small for his age (due to a congenital heart problem that was repaired 8 months ago) I give him a bottle at night if he wants it because I want him to have all the calories he can get. I'm considering finding a sleep therapist since there was an article in Parents magazine a while back that said it could help. Has anyone tried this? Was it worth the money? I'm desperate after going this long without sleep.
