This has happened with my two children. They stop sleeping the night when they started teething. It's best to give them only water. I made the mistake of giving my first baby juice when he woke up and he continued to wake up until he was three. I asked my doctor why and he said it was because I was rewarding him for waking up by giving him a treat. It took 3 hard nights to break his habit and finally he started sleeping the night. Since he was three, I had to get him to go back to sleep on his own by pretending to sleep and letting him cry.
I didn't make that mistake with my second baby. I changed his diaper and made sure he was comfortable, then I put him back in his crib. I continued to go back to his crib and cuddle him for a few minutes at 10 - 15 minute intervals until he went to sleep. By the third night, he was sleeping the night again.
