I had a similar problem with my daughter and a friend of mine gave me a wonderful solution. To keep her up a little later, I draw a bath and sit in it with her, and play. If you don't want to be in the tub with the child, use a baby tub. It keeps her entertained, and if I am lucky, up for another hour or so. After she gets out, I give her a juice bottle(if the child is over 8 weeks, and the doctor says they can have juice) and we snuggle for a little while. After I started this nightly ritual, I noticed her sleep schedule adjusted to about 1-2 hours later. After a while, you don't have to do the bath every night, the child will be used to going to bed later.
