My ped says not to wake a sleeping infant for any reason. Infants need alot of sleep. It's how they grow. As far as the shape of her head, yes I would be concerned about that. Not because your hurting her, but I think it's a 'mom thing'. I always put my kids down on one side, and then after they woke, I put them down on the other. If she's a sound sleeper, maybe you could change her after 3 or 4 hours. My babies never slept longer than that. Be glad! Use the time to baby yourself because once you have a toddler running around the house - those days will be over!!!
