8 month old suddenly not sleeping through the night

Posted by sleepy family on February 09, 2000 at 07:40:40:

He's actually 7 1\2 months but he has started waking in the night. He is crawling, pulling up(but can't get back down),weaned from the breast for a month, eating solids and TEETHING. He goes down for naps and to bed without a fuss awake but wakes at night and then wakes in the morning at his usual if not slightly earlier time. His appetite has fallen off recently. he doesn't want his bottle(formula, breast,or juice)or a sippy cup. I have tried the spillable type of cup but no on that as well. He uses a pacifier to go down and its usually a matter of putting it back in at night but the over the past week he has wanted a bottle (only drinks 2-3oz out of it)then wants totalk for a few minutes then goes down. Last night was a fight! He woke, I gave paci,he lay down,I lay down,he woke, i gave bottle, drank maybe one oz, talked, yawned, layed down, slept 20 min, I slept 10 min, he woke, i gave paci, left, he screamed, gave paci, pat pat, left, screaming, repeated in 5 min increments. Husband decided to getin on this little game but after 3 min sreaming (baby hysterical by now)daddy picks up and calms and baby goes to sleep. I won't talk about the two hours I was still up after all of this.....it was a long night. Am I doing anything wrong? Any suggestions or answers to why Mr.Perfect suddenly is Mr. Sunshine in the middle of the night would but appreciated. Thank you
Sleepy
