7mo gets up 3-4/night,until breastfed wont sleep

My 7 month old sleeps with me and my husband, won't go to sleep unless rocked or breastfed, and is usually put to sleep on the breast. He continues several times thru the night waking up and can't be consoled unless you breast feed him. I am a little tired of it, but more so I am worried about possible tooth decay as he gets older (he already has 5 teeth). Any ideas...?
