17 Month Non-sleeper

Posted by Ty's Mom on July 16, 2000 at 20:16:14:

My son is 17 1/2 months old and has not slept through a night since he was born. His new doctor suggested that we give him Benadryl before bed and it does seem to help. We're just worried about giving him this medication everyday. He sleeps in bed with us because that is literally the only way any of us get any sleep. He's up about 5 times each night for a bottle and then falls right back to sleep. This is an improvement from before the Benadryl. He used to awaken at least a dozen times and have a very hard time falling back to sleep. We've tried everything we can think of and do get a bad reaction from people when we mention the Benadryl. Those people obviously have gotten some sleep in the last 17 months. If anyone has any suggestions, please help us. Thank You!
