Thanks for your advice, think you are right. I've searched the web for info and for the last 3-4 nights I've tried sticking to a routine, bath at 8 and bed at 8.20, read a story and put the mobile on, and its worked!!!( fingers crossed) he falls asleep alot easier than ever before, on his own too without me rocking him to sleep, although I still hang about in his room rather than abandon him completly so soon, over the weeks I intend bring the time to about 7.30 in bed and hopefully he'll go asleep by 8.00.

The problem I still having and don't seem to know how to handle is the waking at night numerous times......... crying, looking for dummy etc, its awful to say but we get so tired that I do end up taking him to bed with me, but whats the alternative, let him cry allnight?
Maybe it is insecurity do you think? we both work and hes dropped off at a nursery all day 5 days a week.
