Can I suggest that you take him to your GP/Paediatrician for a check up to ensure that he doesn't have sore ears or something similar.

My son normally slept well but started to have screaming fits thru the night and it turned out that he had thrush (candida) in his mouth and throat and an ear infection.

Its always a good idea to check it out with the professionals, particularly if your son has done fine up until now.
