Sleeping is a totally new skill that baby has to learn and they just don't grab the concept as easily as we would like!!
Try using the same routine each night, ie, Bath, bottle, story then off to bed. You can chose whatever sleep method you prefer, but if your child is nice and relaxed, it seems a shame to spoil his mood by letting him cry himself into a frenzy. Some classical music, a soothing light, some essential oil of lavender, mandarin or chamomile burning in the room and mummy or daddys hand to hold onto often works a treat!! It will take a few days for baby to recognise the cues for sleep but you will notice in no time that he will know that it is bedtime and will doze off nicely! Between 7 and 8pm is a good bedtime for most babies, but just follow your babies lead.
Enjoy the relaxing time yourself and baby will feel secure and cosy.
Good luck
