Night time waking, controlled crying no good !

Posted by Mutley on January 24, 2001 at 07:54:15:

Hi,

Can anyone help with a sleep problem with our 7 1/2 month old baby?

He used to go thru the night fine, from 20:00 to 07:00 reliably.

Recently he's become very wriggly, and if he comes round during the night (normally 03:00 ish!) he grizzles and very quickly wriggles to the top of his cot, thus banging his head on the bars, which makes him really scream!

In an attempt to try "controlled crying", we tuck him in again, reassure him, and quietly leave the room, extending the time between return visits to the room. But he just wriggles up again each time, till he bangs his head on the bars again, in a viscous circle.

Any ideas or suggestions would be well appreciated !

Mutley.
