2 month old who doesn't sleep...

Our 2 month old averages about 5-6 hours of sleep a day. Rarely does he sleep through a full 2-3 hours in one go.......when he's not sleeping, he's usually very uncomfortable and cranky. The paed tells us there is nothing wrong with him. Colic doesn't seem to be what is bothering him......he's not in pain.....just extremely restless.

Can anyone tell us what might be going on?
