Karen, I (we) can totally relate to your situation. My son is 9 months old now, and my husband has been in the spare room for ~7 months. Our son won't nap without being held, so there is virtually no private time for us. We are also looking for creative solutions.

So many parents advocate the 'Family Bed', but it can be very hard on a marriage, in our experience. We joke about it a lot, and keep it out in the open so that the tension doesn't build up too much, but it can often wear thin. It's even more difficult because it's not something that you can share with many people. Most people we associate with day-to-day would think we are crazy to live this way.

Unfortunately, I have no practical advice other than keep trying, and keep in touch. Maybe it will help to have someone to commiserate with...

Good Luck!

Shelley
