Out of curiosity, when did your babies finally start sleeping through (most) of the night?
*************

I don't really remember when my oldest two started sleeping through (they are 12 and 10 now) but I do know it was before they were 2yrs old. My 3rd son slept through before a year, my 4th was about the same. My youngest still does not sleep through the night, but I think this is more because our house is so dry and she wakes up with a dry mouth. Some nights she sleeps all night, (usually warmer days when the furnace doesn't run as much) but most nights she wakes once or twice to nurse. She will be 2 years old next month.

I guess I didn't really notice exactly when they started sleeping "through the night" because they all slept with me and it didn't disturb me very much. I rarely lost sleep when they slept with me (or in a crib next to my bed). The few times I tried "sleep training", in the form of trying to get them to sleep alone and night weaning, I spent many sleepless nights getting up and walking the floors with a cranky baby. I finally realized I could be SLEEPING instead of doing that, so I quit. DUH! I put them back in my bed and went to sleep. They all moved into their own (or their brothers) beds by 2 years. My daughter has slept in our bed the longest, mostly because she is still night nursing. (she is also the one who has nursed the longest) We are moving to a new house this year, where she will have her own bedroom. I expect she will be sleeping in it by the end of the year. :-)

More than you ever wanted to know! :-)
