You must be exhausted! I can imagine that you are being driven demented by this situation and, believe me, I feel for you.

Firstly, it may be a good idea to get baby checked by your doctor incase she has something that is sore and affecting her sleep. Within sleep there are cycles - in adults the sleep cycles last for a couple of hours, in babies it is only about 40 mins to 1 hr 30 mins. It sounds like your daughter is waking at each cyle. This may be because she is hurting (like her ears, or something) or that she naturally wakens and doesn't know how to get herself back off to sleep again. I am not a fan of the controlled crying technique, but have tried a gentler version on my 13 month old son. If you reply to this, I will email you with the details - I guess, its always worth a try.

Another option is a favourite with Stephanie, a regular to this site, and that is side-carring. I believe that it is a crib with one side missing and that is the side that you pull next to your bed. Baby can still get the benefit of a cuddle and closeness, but it also has its own space to move and, of course, sleep!!

Unfortunately, your daughter is right in the throws of separation anxiety, so now will be a hard time to introduce her to a bed all of her own. Go with your own instincts. I'm happy to help if I can.

Cheers and Good luck!!
