infant apnea sleeping and awake

my 4 month old son suddenly stopped breathing 2 weeks ago. he is now on an apnea monitor 24/7. he was hospitalized after this alte. every test possible was ran and everything came back normal. is there anyone out there who has been through something like this? we have no explanation other than babies sometimes do things like this. i can't even let him out of my sight to shower. help
