Jack's mum, thanks so much for the reply. It sounds like our little monkies are quite alike. Yes, Emmitt has always been not such a good sleeper. The first 3 weeks were great. He woke every 3 hours, and I thought that was great for a newborn, but it has gone down hill since then.
Last night went pretty good with a terrible start. We tried turning out all the lights instead of having a dim lamp on and I guess he didn't like that but I didn't clue in to this until after an hour of fighting with him. He fell asleep just to wake up crying and nothing would console him not even a boob. Then my husband turns the light on and he calms right down. After that he went for about a 5 hr stretch -feed-three hour stretch-feed-another 3 hour stretch. I actually woke up before him this morning and I get a chance to wake up on my own without being woken up. I find that makes a lot of difference.
I have also read a bit of a book called The Baby Whisperer- How to calm, connect and communicate with your baby. I found the little that I read really good and I intend on going out and buying the book soon.
