Posted by Mary on February 17, 2001 at 08:44:05:I have a 3 1/2 month old son. He started solids (a little rice cereal twice a day) about two weeks ago. He was very colicky until about 2 1/2 months of age and has always nursed alot. In our desperation to get him to sleep we found he would sleep better in his car seat on the dryer! Now I'm afraid that he is addicted to both. I can usually get him down without the dryer at night but he won't sleep long out of the snuggly confines of his car seat (I think he has also become used to the elevation). My real problem is during the day. He tends to get pretty hysterical after being up for a few hours but I can't get him down for a nap without the dryer and car seat. I need to break this habit, I know but I am uncomfortable with letting him cry-it-out too long (I have tried a bit and he's always gotten worse and if he did pass out from exhaustion he only slept a brief while). Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I worry about setting up bad habits already? Help!
