My son is only 3 1/2 months old but I have had similar problems. He started nursing more and more about 2 weeks ago and was waking up again every couple of hours. He sleeps in a bassinett next to our bed but when I feed him at night I often bring him into bed and lie down so I don;t have to completely wake up. I found that when I fell asleep with him next to me by accident he was up again throughout the night much more often. I think the smell and my movements triggered him to want to suck more even though he 3 was not hungry. Have you tried comforting him and then putting him down without a feeding so he gets the message? I have a friend who has used this method with some success. I find (and so does she) that if my hsband calms the baby and puts him back down it works better, maybe because he doesn't smell the milk. Is your son really crying when he wakes up or just fussing and moaning. I have had alot of success with music boxes quieting and soothing him if he's just fussy and not really crying. Well, it's not much but good-luck!
