First you might want to cut out the solids. Infants do not need solids until they are at least 6 months old or older. Until this time, they are not able to digest solid foods and therefore get no nutrition out of them. This also means that they get LESS of the milk that they do need. Especially at around 3 months babies go through a growth spurt where they start eating a lot more. This is NOT an indicator that they need solids, what they need is more milk. THis will also help boost your milk supply if you are breastfeeding. (I didn't give my children solids until they started reaching for them on my plate, usually around 8 months. By that time they were able to eat soft things like carrots, banana, etc. We skipped baby foods altogether, we never saw the need and they were much more expensive than real foods. We did use rice cereal.... for thickening applesauce!)
As for him sleeping in his carseat, there is nothing wrong with this. Some babies like to feel more secure, in fact one of my boys slept in his carseat for the first several months due to a respiritory problem and it really helped him. I dont' think I would leave him on the dryer though, because as he gets older and more mobile, there is the risk that he could shift the carseat and fall off. You might want to try one of the "bouncy seats" with the built in vibrating mechanism. It should have the same effect as the dryer. There is absolutely no problem with him sleeping in this position, because eventually he will outgrow the need. Most likely when he becomes more mobile he won't WANT to sleep there anymore. As long as his legs are supported (not dangling over the edge) he should be just fine. You could try putting the carseat/bouncer in his crib so he will be more secure and out of drafts.
Hope this helps!
