If your child is waking up and NOT eating, but only comfort nursing, then you need to look for another cause for the waking, such as gas, acid reflux, teething, ear infection, etc. Have you talked to your pediatrician about this? Very few babies have actual sleep problems, but are usually waking in response to another problem. I would have your baby checked by his doctor to rule out physical discomfort or illness.
