Thanks for responding. we did take him to the doctor and he got a clean bill of health. I've always nursed him to sleep because he was so hard to get to sleep any other way but now I think it's really backfiring because he's waking up and that's all he wants. If I try to rock or just comfort him back to sleep he wakes up fully and won't go back to sleep for hours. I would feel more confident not feeding him every hour if I knew how long a growth spurt should last, does anyone know? If I get him down to every few hours at night then will he nurse more often during the day to make up for it? Help! How often throughout the day and night should a big 4 month old be nursing?
