night terrors-can anyone offer advice?

Hi there....my son is 8 months old and has been sleeping reasonably well for several months (gets up once each night to nurse). This past weekend he started waking early- around 11 pm- and was screaming right away. He nurses but then has difficulty going back to sleep and gets upset when i leave the room (up until now he has been able to put himself back to sleep fairly well). He just cut a tooth last week and may be starting another.....but i wonder if night terrors could be starting already at this age? Thank you for any help you can offer!
