night terrors?

Posted by vickijo on October 02, 2001 at 16:16:19:

I am an in home childcare provider and have suddenly had to deal with "night terrors" with a 15 month old occurring at nap time during the day time hours. I haven't got a clue what to do about this. The mom says she's been having them the last couple of nights. What in the world causes this? What could a 15 month old who's typically very happy have to "night terror" about? She used to have a very bad sleep schedule, but for several months now her sleep schedule has worked out amazingly well. Any suggestions? Any reading recommendations?
